The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65, is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings to California consumers about significant exposures to chemicals that are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The State of California maintains and periodically updates a list of chemicals subject to Proposition 65. This list includes hundreds of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that may be present in consumer products, food, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing processes, or the environment.
