Meet Your New Plants!

IMPORTANT: Garden beds arrive in 2 seperate shipments. First, your garden bed arrives to give you time to assemble and fill your garden bed. Then, your plants will arrive 1-10 days approximately after your garden bed is delivered.

Each Leaf’d garden bed comes filled with 20 vibrant veggies and herbs, carefully selected to thrive in your specific region and season. We take the guesswork out of gardening by choosing plantlings that love your local climate ensuring they grow strong, healthy, and delicious. Every garden is curated to provide a balanced mix of flavors and textures, from crisp greens to fragrant herbs, so you can enjoy a beautiful, thriving garden right from the start.

How to Build Your Garden Bed:

1. Open Your Garden Bed Box

Carefully unpack all the pieces and hardware. Make sure you have all the sides, corners, screws, and wingnuts before you start.

2. Choose the Perfect Spot

Find a sunny location that gets at least 6 hours of sunlight a day and is close to an easy water source.

3. Prepare the ground

Clear away any grass or weeds. For extra protection, lay down a layer of chicken wire to keep burrowing animals out, followed by cardboard or a black weed-suppressing mat to block weeds and help retain moisture.

4. Level the Area

Try to make the ground as flat as possible so your bed sits evenly. It doesn’t have to be perfect — just level enough for stability (unless you prefer a more precise look for aesthetics).

5. Assemble the Sides

Align the correct panels together and use the included screws and wingnuts to attach the sides securely. Tighten each corner as you go to keep everything straight.

6. Add the Middle Supports

Once the frame is up, insert the center support bars (included with your kit). These help reinforce the structure and ensure your bed stays strong once filled with soil.

How to Fill Your Garden Bed:

Healthy soil is the foundation of a thriving garden. Use a rich, well-draining mix of soil, compost, and mulch to give your plants the perfect start.

Garden Bed Sizes & Soil Volume

Rectangle Garden Bed:
6 ft long × 3 ft wide × 1 ft deep → 18 cubic feet of soil

Oval Planter:
6 ft long × 2 ft wide × 1 ft deep → 12 cubic feet of soil

1 cubic foot = about 7.5 gallons

Rectangle Bed ≈ 135 gallons of soil

Oval Planter ≈ 90 gallons of soil

Recommended Mix:
60% garden soil
30% compost (adds nutrients and organic matter)
10% drainage material (perlite, bark, or coarse sand)

Blend the materials well before adding them to your bed for even nutrient distribution.

Mulch Matters

Top your garden with 2–3 inches of natural mulch — wood chips, straw, or leaf compost work beautifully. Mulch helps: Lock in moisture. Keep weeds away. Regulate soil temperature.
