California Proposition 65 Notice
California Proposition 65 Notice
Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65)
The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65, is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings to California consumers about significant exposures to chemicals that are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
The State of California maintains and periodically updates a list of chemicals subject to Proposition 65. This list includes hundreds of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that may be present in consumer products, food, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing processes, or the environment. The current list of chemicals can be found at www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Proposition 65 Warning
In compliance with California law, Leaf’d Box provides the following warning:
WARNING: Some products sold by Leaf’d Box can expose you to chemicals, including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe or that it violates any product safety standards. Proposition 65 establishes exposure thresholds that are often significantly lower than levels established by federal agencies and other regulatory bodies. In certain circumstances, a business may provide a warning based on the presence of a listed chemical without conducting an exposure assessment, or as a precautionary measure.
Leaf’d Box Compliance Statement
Leaf’d Box is committed to compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. We provide Proposition 65 warnings where required by California law to ensure transparency and to allow California consumers to make informed decisions.
